Keys For Living Ministries

The Reverend Thomas A. Keys has been preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ since 2001. He has served as a Pastor-Teacher of the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church (SRMBC) from 2015 – 2024.  Under Pastor Keys’ leadership, SRMBC grew from 16 members to over 150 in two years.  And despite the COVID-19 global pandemic, Pastor led SRMBC in a 3-million-dollar new Church Building Project (completed in 2024).

Prior to becoming the Pastor of The Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church of Harrisburg, he served Goodwin in various capacities, including Senior Associate Minister, Pastor of Evangelism, Associate Pastor of Service & Support Ministries, Director of the Young Adult Ministry, Clergy & Congregational Worship Leader, and Adult Sunday School Teacher. Pastor Keys is known throughout the Central Baptist Association of Pennsylvania (CBA), having previously served as an Area Vice–Moderator (Harrisburg, Carlisle, and Steelton) and as Home Missions and Christian Education Director.

Reverend Keys is a United States veteran with military service throughout the United States, Korea, Europe and the Middle East.  A native of Philadelphia, PA, Reverend Keys relocated to Harrisburg in 1994 to accept a position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By the grace of God, in August of 2016, Reverend Keys made unprecedented history when he broke the color barrier and became the first African American to serve as the keynote speaker for the 140th Session of the Mount Olivet Union Campmeeting Association, one of the oldest active Interdenominational Campmeeting in the United States. Reverend Keys graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA., and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Palmer Theological Seminary in King of Prussia, PA. 

Reverend Keys is retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, having served for over 32 years in the Departments of Insurance and Labor & Industry. After serving as Pastor–Teacher of SRMBC, God has led Pastor Keys to launch Keys for Living Ministries, a para–church ministry with the mission to provide pastoral care and support to pastors, churches, and the community. Reverend Keys is married to the former Kirsten Nicole Harris.  They reside in Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, PA.
